Town of Cohasset, MA

Siler Climate Consulting is working with the Town of Cohasset to pilot the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Planning 2.0 (MVP 2.0) program. This includes revisiting their climate resilience priorities through a collaborative governance process that aims to address the root causes of social vulnerability through local climate solutions.

Siler Climate Consulting (SCC) is working with the Town of Cohasset, MA to revisit their climate resilience priorities with a focus on social equity and justice. SCC is collaborating with the Town to understand existing climate resilience priorities in order to translate those priorities into action through project development and implementation with a focus on building social resilience and exploring the factors that create vulnerability. This project includes facilitating engagement with Town staff and community members around local climate impacts, municipal climate actions for addressing those impacts, and driving toward implementation with a near term, catalytic project. In order to shift power to community groups and priority populations through this process, the project team has  pulled together a paid Core Team of 12 people who represent organizations and perspectives that will help us identify factors that contribute to vulnerability and resilience for people who live and work the town and to inform the approach to building community resilience in ways that simultaneously address root causes of vulnerability.
