Cohasset Food Justice Seed Project

Through piloting the MVP 2.0 program, community participants identified that food (in)security and ecosystem (mis)management are central to building equitable social and climate resilience in Cohasset.

Siler Climate Consulting (SCC) is working with the town to facilitate the project in response to the findings of the MVP 2.0 pilot program. In collaboration with Holly Hill Farms, Cohasset Public Schools, the Cohasset Food Pantry, and paid community resilience liaisons, our team will engage stakeholders across local food justice initiatives to address resilience priorities. Initial activities will enhance the pantry’s capacity, such as increasing fresh produce donations, improving delivery services, and creating public education opportunities through gardening workshops. Over the long term, this initiative aims to pilot comprehensive food justice planning rooted in equity and sustainability. The project not only increases access to fresh food for vulnerable residents but also provides tools and frameworks for inclusive engagement, empowering the community to navigate evolving social and ecological challenges.
